About the Name DreamWeather

I have always loved the weather, the wondrous formation of clouds that hint at the weather pattern for the next few days, the subtle changes of air pressure, the shifting directions of wind. I was looking up at cirrus clouds in a vast New Mexico sky, when the idea arose for a nonprofit that would foster a feminine consciousness in life.

The name DreamWeather came in a dream. I wasn't sure about the name at first, but I trusted the dream, and waited as the meaning of DreamWeather became clear. Over time, I understood that DreamWeather refers to a state of consciousness, the inner weather of the heart that shapes and defines outer life.

When I explained this to an upper-atmosphere physicist, he immediately understood, for there is already a model for this concept. Space weather is a term used to describe the effect of the sun's activity on the earth, the invisible storms and solar flares that occur in space. Forecasting space weather, the changes that take place in space, has become critical to many fields, especially the communications industry. In the same way, DreamWeather speaks to a quality of consciousness that affects the well-being of humanity, including our way of communicating and relating to one another, and to life itself.

I have listened to thousands of women's dreams in the last decade. Recently, I have heard a new thread running through these dreams. It is a thread of love, a capacity to remember what is Real and to weave this remembrance into everyday life. It is a consciousness that it is freely accessible, non-hierarchical, and nourishes all life.
